hey virtual friend, your nina here. happy late sunday.
this week there has been one thought in my mind over and over:
depression hates a moving target.
and i don't think movement is only exercise. i think movement in life
matters too. when you have projects, plans, goals, things you are curious
about or working toward, you create momentum. and sometimes momentum is
exactly what you need.
so, in accordance with that thought, i decided to return to my health. i
already walk around, do some mobility, try to meditate, ground outside
when i am able to, and have some hot water with lemon in the mornings. but
i wanted to integrate a little more structure again, so i started a
90 day movement experiment. you can check it out if you want to follow along or try any of what i
am doing.
why 90 days? because sometime around 2024 or 2025, i did a 90 day
consistency plan that completely changed the way i thought about
discipline, goals, and keeping promises to myself. i want to revisit that
feeling and that state.
i have also been using the
cycle syncing app + task manager i created. after a few iterations, i have actually been enjoying it quite a bit.
there is still work to do, but it is pretty cool to use something i built
as part of my actual day.
and, as i mentioned last week, i have been trying to learn how to properly
read. this sunday, a few questions around Nietzsche sent me into a rabbit
hole that became a much longer piece about men, maturity, responsibility,
intimacy, and what adulthood asks of us. if that sounds interesting, you
can read
what makes a man?
aside from working on this new article, i also recorded a
small rant on purpose
this week, so feel free to check those out too.
so that has been my week: a little more movement, a little more momentum,
and a lot of following whatever keeps making me curious. i hope life is
being gentle with you wherever you are.
